Review:We had a fun week exploring the similarities and differences of pumpkins and apples. We also explored different ways to make a basket to keep baby Moses safe on the stream. The students decided a basket made out of tinfoil would work best :). Looking Ahead:![]() This week we will wrap up our focus on pumpkins, apples, and fall. On Friday we will begin our study on Pets. We know your child would LOVE to bring their pet to school, but that would just be chaos if all 18 kids brought they pets :). So, instead we are going to show all our friends pictures of our pets and a make a class pet book. If you do not have any pets at home, ask your child what they would LIKE to have as a pet and please send me a picture of that. We will also be going to Royal Meadows on Tuesday to share some songs we've been singing at preschool and the Bible verses we've learned so far. Please send a booster seat with your child on Tuesday. Wednesday is pajama day! You child is welcome to wear their pajamas on Wednesday and bring along 1 snuggly item. They may wear slippers inside, but we do hope to get outside, so please make sure they have shoes to wear.

Nov. 13: Parent Teacher Conferences Nov. 20: Visitor Day Nov. 21 & 22: No School Review:This week we had a great week of talking about how trees change during the fall. We went on a nature walk and created our own nature creations after reading Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. On Thursday we practiced our fire and tornado drill. Sarah Davelaar from Oak Grove came and taught us about animal tracks. We got to practice walking like an opossum and rabbit, and we discovered that animal tracks create patterns! Looking Ahead:![]() This week we will begin to wrap up our study on Trees/Fall. We will shift our focus to pumpkins and how they are similar and different than apples. We worked together to make Apple Bread on Wednesday and we were able to enjoy it on Thursday during snack. Below is the recipe we followed. ![]() Ingredients:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Combine remaining ingredients (except apples) in a separate bowl. Mix well. Add to dry mixture and mix. Stir in apples. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until knife inserted in center emerges clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Remove from pan, slice, and serve.
Looking Ahead:![]() This week we will be looking at how trees change in the fall. We will be spending a lot of time outside. With the weather changing, please make sure your preschooler has warm clothing for going outside. We go out from 9:00-9:30, so it is still pretty chilly that early in the morning.

The kids have really enjoyed getting to do yoga :). We follow Cosmic Kids Yoga on youtube if you are interested in seeing what we do. We created our very own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees with our names. We have them hanging up in our classroom if you would like to come in and see their work. We have our "Tree Gallery" hanging in the hall. It was fun to see them create their own tree designs. I just game them the paint, paper and brushes and we talked about the different colors we see on trees. Looking Ahead:![]() This week we will be going to Pumpkinland on Monday. We will also have Kindermusik on Monday. With the extras we have this week, we will only have 2 small groups. We will continue to talk about trees and the different parts of a tree. Review: We had a great first week of school! I'm sure your kiddos are exhausted! Please know that this will pass, as they get used to going to school 4 days a week, the tears and fits will become less. With my daughter also starting school this year, I'm on this journey with you! We had a lot of fun learning about our classroom and the different areas we can play in. One of the favorites is the catapult in the science area :) We changed up small groups a little on Thursday. We talked about our Tucker Turtle corner. Below is a link to the story we read, you are welcome to read it again at home and talk about how we can stop and think before we get frustrated or sad. Ms. Jody worked with the students on writing their name and drawing their self portraits. We will be keeping these pages at school to show the progress they make throughout the year. Please respect the privacy of other families and do not post any pictures of other children on any social media or public forums. If you would like individual pictures of your child, please let me know and I will do my best to snag a picture during the day. Looking Ahead:We will continue to introduce different routines in our classroom this week. Tuesday is picture day! Please return your picture forms with payment as soon as possible! Wednesday will be our first Kindermusik day.
