Review:This section will include a review/highlights of what we did the previous week. Looking Ahead:This section will give a brief synopsis of what our focus will be this week. Focus Board:Each week I will post a picture of our focus board below. During that week, each morning at large group we will introduce and review what is on our Focus Board.
Small Groups:Almost every day we will have an opportunity to work in small groups. We will use this time to work on different skills through direct instruction or independent work. I will post a description of what will be worked on each day. Dates to Remember:I will post any dates to take note of here. I will also include birthdays here.
Well, the year is done. I am still not quite sure how I feel about that. With my little sister's wedding this weekend, I haven't had much time to process the school year coming to an end especially after ending it with a tornado warning. Below are the links to the pictures I had promised to share with you at the party. I have also included a PDF version of our slideshow. I know I have said this many times, but thank you so much for letting me be part of your child's journey through school. I will miss them dearly. Please don't hesitate to say hello if you see me around! I love seeing my preschool alumni :)
Review:We had a fun week reading a few of Eric Carle's books. It was fun to hear the students read the books again on their own using the same language :) I'm sure you heard all about our park day and the ice cream surprise! Thank you parents for helping me keep that secret! The morning class was clueless! They thought we were going to Walmart or Target...haha! One of the afternoon students was convinced we were going to Bomgaars :) We will be showing a slideshow of our field trip on Wednesday during our graduation party. I will also upload the pictures and share a link with you. I also wanted to share our thoughts about our question on Thursday. I asked the kids what they NEEDED and what they WANTED. We also went on to talk about why moms and dads sometimes say we can't always have what we want but maybe we could think of something that we need. We used the example of pop and candy. We may WANT pop and candy, but do we really NEED it? Will it help us live and grow stronger? Here are the responses of the kiddos (please excuse the terrible handwriting, its difficult to write on the smartboard :D) Looking AheadWe are wrapping up our school year! I'm sure you have noticed we have started sending home some of your child's things from this year. Please remember to send a backpack with your child each day as we will continue to send home different things this week. Graduation Party: Your child can invite two visitors to join us for that last hour of the day on Wednesday for our graduation party. We will hand out diplomas during this time. Graduation Program: We will have our program on Wednesday night 6PM for the morning section and 7PM for the afternoon section. Your child should wear their t-shirt for this program. Please have your child in the lobby of the BJ Haan 5 minutes before the program begins.
Extras:Monday: Kick Ball & Bouncy Castle! Tuesday: Happy Birthday Cohen & Sawyer! Wednesday: Graduation Party! Thank you for a great year!
