To Start the Year
I contacted you earlier about Home Visits. During these visits we will be able to answer any questions you may have and collect any paperwork we still may need to turn in. Please have a family photo available for us to post on our family board in our classroom. Here is a link to the sign up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d4aa8aa2fa4fc1-home3/. Please let me know if there isn’t a time or date that works for you. I will gladly work with you to set up another time. There will be an Open House in our classroom on September 1 from 5:00-7:00. Please bring enrollment pack, physical and immunization sheets if not already in. Snacks: When we need additional snacks, we will send home a list of approved snacks. We may ask for help in supplying our snack cupboard. We would appreciate any supplies you are able to offer. Communication: There will be three main modes of “formal” communication throughout the year. I will be updating our blog weekly with a recap/preview post. Please let me know if you are unable to see the posts, I will send out a link each week after it is posted. There will also be a monthly newsletter that will preview what we will be focusing on that month, and give you any information about special dates or activities. And finally, we will have parent-teach conferences in the fall and the spring. Please know that I am available to talk anytime, whether you want to set up a conference or phone call. Communication is always open. Celebrations We will celebrate your child’s Birthday at preschool. If your child’s birthday lands on a day that we do not have class or during the summer months, we will work with you to set an alternative date to celebrate. You are welcome to send birthday treats with your child on their birthday, but please do not feel you NEED to, we will celebrate regardless. We will also be having 4 Family Visit Days this year (dates to be determined). On these days, your child is welcome to bring anyone they would like. We will send out more information when the days come closer. Traveling Owl We will be having a traveling owl in our classroom this year. Each student will get to take home the Traveling Owl for a week beginning on Monday, and returning the following Tuesday. During this time, you will be asked to help your child fill out the travel log. I look forward to meeting you and your child! Ms. Elise |
