Review:We had a great week finishing up the three little pigs. It was fun to end the week acting out the story. We could certainly tell a storm was brewing, so we were thankful for a few wonderfully warm days to play outside! We ended up being selected to be observed on Wednesday afternoon, but it all went very well. Thank you for all your encouragement and support this week! Looking Ahead:We will shift our focus on to our houses and the different features of our homes. If you have any pictures of your home, please send it with your child or email it to me. We would love to share what the different houses we live in look like. Bible Verse: Unto thee, oh God, do we give thanks, Psalm 75:1

Review:This week we began our study on buildings. We had fun finishing up our city and can't wait to show you at parent teacher conferences. We were able to get out side a lot this week. Please remember to continue to send your child's snow clothes every day. Even if there isn't much snow, the layers will keep them warm and more dry while playing outside. We also had a great day celebrating love on Valentine's day. Looking ahead:We will continue our building study this week and have a lot of fun acting out the three little pigs and reading different versions of the story. We will be having conferences on Tuesday and Thursday. Thank you to all of you for signing up for conferences! I look forward to sharing how great your child has been! I get to say often that I have been blessed with a great class this year :) We will also be having our state observations this week Tuesday morning, Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday morning. This will not alter our daily happenings, but you and students may notice an additional person in the classroom those days.

Review:We finished up our study on Mo Willems this week (so you will be able to find more books at the library now :D). We had a lot of fun searching for Pigeon, Piggie and Gerald in our classroom. Pigeon even found his way out to the front door on our field trip day! We had a great day on Tuesday visiting the two elementary schools. The kiddos did great on the big school bus and really enjoyed looking at all the classrooms and seeing where they might eat lunch next year. For the past month we have been working on getting socks in our baskets. Each day I set a timer at the end of choice time for the students to start cleaning up. If they beat the timer, they would get a sock in their basket. Once they got 10 socks, they would get to pick a celebration. The afternoon class met their goal last week, so we were able to celebrate this week Wednesday! After a class vote, we had a great day with cake and ice cream. The morning class met their goal this week and voted to have a popcorn and movie day at the end of the month! Looking Ahead:We are going to begin our study on buildings this week, however this week will be pretty crazy! Between kindermusik, Lisa Laird (library lady), Valentine's day, Sunday Ford, and throw in a Tornado/Fire drill, we will have a week of crazy schedules. Bible Verse:Thou shalt not steal. Exodus 20:15

Valentine's Day Party Lisa Laird Wednesday: Sunday Ford Review:This last week has been a lot of fun learning about Mo Willems and his writing style. We have talked a lot about paying attention to how the words are in the book and how it effects our voices as we read. We also discussed the different between a talk bubble and a thought bubble. I'm sure your child has mentioned finding Pigeon, Gerald (the elephant) and Piggie in our classroom. Each night they move to a different spot and the students have to find them during the day. My favorite of this week has been hearing the student re-read the books we had read during read aloud. I would encourage you to go to the library with your child and find a Mo Willems book or two to read with your child. (I'll be returning our books next week Friday. :) We also had a great time reading a book during small groups. The students did a great job reading "Pete Love Shoes" I have attached a copy of the book below for you to print if you would like to read this with your kiddos. Looking Ahead:We will be wrapping up our study on Mo Willems this week. We will also be going on our field trip on Tuesday. You do NOT need to send a booster seat along as we will be riding on the big school buses. We will be visiting both Kinsey and Sioux Center Christian. The morning class will leave preschool around 9 and the afternoon will be leaving around 1. Bible Verse:Seek the Lord while he may be found. Isaiah 55:6
