Review of the WeekThe students learned that even teachers mess up and don't have things go as planned :) We learned what apples DON'T work to make applesauce, so we will try it again this next week. The kiddos have been so flexible and understanding with the crazy schedules. We had Dordt students come in this last week and do some literacy testing with each of the students. Many of the kiddos commented on how fun it was to "play games" in the hall with their Dordt friend. Looking Ahead:There will be NO SCHOOL THURSDAY, OCT. 6! Bible Verse: Do all things without complaining or arguing. Phil. 2:14

Review of last week:We had a great first week of school! All the students did a great job of learning the classroom routines. We started to write in our journals which is always an adventure. I would encourage you to use this cues below on what we do daily to help your child recall what happened during the day. it is very normal for your child to come home and not remember what happened at school, but we have found that supplying parents with a few cues children are able to remember more from their day. I don't know if you noticed your child was extra tired by Thursday evening, but my husband sure noticed was ready for bed very early :) It will take a bit for your child to adjust to the school schedule (just like its hard for us adults to adjust), but please give them time. Some ways you can help make this transition easier would be to make sure your child is getting enough sleep, eating well balanced meals and playing outside as much as possible. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email, call or text me. Looking Ahead:We will wrap up our introduction to preschool. We will also begin memorizing our Bible verses this week use the book Hiding God's Word in Little Hearts by Susan Hunt. We will begin with the letter A. Bible Verse: A soft answer turns away wrath.
